LEWIS
BRENNAN
Lewis Brennan is an independent London-Glasgow-based singer-songwriter and producer; best heard creating heartfelt and powerful music that toes the line between delicate acoustic folk and achingly painful electronica.
A trained pianist, Lewis released his debut album (W.S.Muller), which he wrote and recorded at only 16 years old. The 38 minute runtime exercises his powerful storytelling and masterful production in a truly fresh-faced project. Now, two years later, he's back with his sophomore album DEITY.
London born and raised, he's used to playing gigs and open mics around the city including at The George Tavern in Bethnal Green, as well as playing across his university town of Glasgow.
Following in the footsteps of some of his idols, like Joni Mitchell, Sufjan Stevens and Rufus Wainwright; Lewis brings together his love of folk, rock and jazz to create his own eclectic and complex style.
Releasing on the 22nd of September, Lewis' second LP (DEITY) is a venture into the darker side of modern relationships.

DEITY describes a failing relationship, equating a lover to a holy deity; the album spends its journey learning to find the flaws of an omnipotent, omnibenevolent body.
This album consists of holy piano ballads that flow from the stripped acoustic to vast walls of sound. Lewis brings in large communal orchestrations like the brass band on Birthdays or the string quartet on the album's opener, Sunlight.
